Creativity breeds Madnesshttp://fuel55.blogspot.com/2008/01/answer-key-for-whats-your-play.html [Creativity breeds Madness] After reading the initial hand history (but before reading this post), I felt like he would have raised with 99 preflop, or at least bet it when checked to on the turn. I mean, true minraisers typically like to make these dumb probe bets when checked to.

The second hand, after several people limped in, the player to my right chased a spade flush with 7s 4s out of the big blind, calling pot-sized bets on the flop and the turn before catching his fifth spade on the river.

Lucky Straightshttp://luckystraights.wordpress.com/2008/01/22/victory-to-end-the-day/ [Lucky Straights] Victory to End The Day: After the game, I can’t say why I chose to only check with my kings here, perhaps trying to keep the pot cheap to tempt the short stack. The flop presented a threat from a flush, but with no ace I felt good about my kings and lead out with a bet around the size of the pot, I get one caller.

Brooklyn Bum's Poker Exploitshttp://brooklynbum.wordpress.com/2008/01/25/the-good-the-bad-the-ugly-in-atlantic-city/ [Brooklyn Bum's Poker Exploits] The Good, the Bad & the Ugly in Atlantic City: I hope he has a set or a flush draw himself, so I just call because there’s another player between us to act.  I’m not sure what this guy has but I’m thinking he has a draw or top pair at least. He’s the guy I want to calling so the pot builds real big.  Normally, I might re-raise the crazy aggressive guy if we were heads up to pretend like I’m protecting against the draws with my A/x against him but I’m thinking if the guy between us has a decent hand like 2 pair he’s calling the flop bet from the crazy aggressive guy and hopefully bite on one more bet on the turn.  Good move?

Greektown Swirling Through my Mindhttp://deadmonywalking.livejournal.com/113530.html [Greektown Swirling Through my Mind] Treasure Island, Poker content: On the flop they would check to me, so I would bet about 20$ no matter what was on the board. If they were playing tight then they would fold if they didn’t hit anything, and if I got raised, I didn’t care because I would just fold and try it again next time.

http://supaflynfb.dustdiary.com/2008/01/29/why-cant-i-bust-this-guy/ [Play Bruiser Time Poker Like] Why Can’t I Bust This Guy?: My gameplan was to play pots if it looked like multi-way action and I had a good drawing hand, while the blinds were still low. One of my hopes was that I could catch a big hand (perhaps preflop in my big blind), reraise somebody all-in, and have them think I’m simply trying to push them around.

Instead, after the 1st limper check raises 3 cold, I turn into a disgusting weak tighty (fearing monsters under the bed and being jammed between straights vs.

thecincykidhttp://thecincykid.livejournal.com/30664.html [thecincykid] thecincykid @ 2008-01-27T19:06:00: He checks again (this would prove to be mistake #4). Now I'm a little weirded out because I figured him for a slow-play of aces or ace-something, maybe ace-nine?

http://devinarmstrong.livejournal.com/4303.html [Devin Armstrong] "The future of poker": Lac Leamy Casino: I lose a lot when I open-raise Ah5h mp, get called by what turned out to be 78o by the player to my left (he wasn't in the blinds, more on that later) and getting caught up in a board that by the turn was 456T with two hearts, giving me middle pair on the flop and the nut flush draw on the turn. I missed.

http://sds14driver.dustdiary.com/2008/01/16/the-sunday-million-live-blogging-sort-of/ [Time Ndash Really Poker Didn] The Sunday Million: Live Blogging (sort of): I bet T20K at the AJQ flop, and he mincheckraised. I put the last of my chips in, knowing I might be well behind, and discover that I am in fact drawing nearly dead: He flopped the nut straight with KT.

[tk's Blog] Sunday January 27, 2008 - Full day session!: I lost my initial buy in with JJ on a board of 10 7 9 when Kyto flopped the straight with J8. It was one of those things where it was hard to put him on a hand with a J because I had two but I still have to consider it a possibility and thats where I made a mistake.

http://devinarmstrong.livejournal.com/3830.html [Devin Armstrong] Seneca Winter Challenge report: In other words, the blinds are $2 and $5, but it costs $10 to limp, so if it's an unraised pot the big blind for example has to put in $5 more to see a flop. By adding the $2 variable they introduce white chips into the game, which means that the house can rake it, which means it qualifies for the jackpot.
