Poker Library > Back to college tomorrow
[mollten] After a week’s break (too much overtime), the mollten team will be back at college tomorrow. No doubt most of us are doing the half-term homework tonight and will hand it in tomorrow pretending it was done last Monday.

[How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Blog] An exercise in distraction: I probably would have told my JTE by now that I won't be well enough tomorrow, but the second-years have interview tests, and if I don't get to them now, they'll have to wait two more weeks. I feel kind of cut-off from the world, even though I've been e-mailing and text messaging a bit this evening.
[Lukekim.blogspot.com] Life of a Poker Player: People often asked the paranoid question, "What if you go blind?" which I admit is much more severe than the nearest poker-equivalent of "What if you fail?" As my vision was terrible, although I refused to obtain glasses or contact lenses, my response was "Well, people say that I am blind now, so if something does go wrong, it can't be that much worse than it is now." In poker, should I, Mark, or Jeff fail, the response to the question of failure is, "Well, I made $50,000 in my real job, and my ability to obtain such a job won't decrease. Deciding to play poker is the financial equivalent of holding an option, where I can exercise it--go full-time--if it pays more than $50k or go back to the normal world." My point is that deciding to play poker for a living is not as crazy as it sounds.
[Yocohoops.com] yoco :: College Basketball || (a sports weblog) analysis and ...: New Mexico coach Ritchie McKay, after earlier opining that "No Division I school would take [Aaron Johnson] for just one semester," now says he would consider taking Johnson back if the 6-foot-9 forward overcomes his legal problems. Xavier senior point guard Dedrick Finn was arrested Tuesday night after his ex-girlfriend alleged he stole her dog.
[Wilwheaton.net] WIL WHEATON dot NET: Where is my mind?: Viva Las Vegas -- part one: I slowed down and looked through a surprisingly smoke-free room, across an armada of slot machines and saw "POKER" hanging from the ceiling about a hundred yards in front of me. In my imagination, a needle scratched across the Jaws record.
[Fullcontactpoker.com] Poker Journal: With over 3000 players in the event I was able to make the money, but lost the key hands that I needed to win to make a run at it. I think I played "ok", but frankly, I wasn't exactly too focused on giving it my absolute best.
