[Cardschat Poker Forums] I would rather have 89 suited than a low pp (9 and under), I have more outs. The price of seeing the flop is the key of course, but at tight tables I have had good success with these hands.

[Betting at Betfair: Tabatabai] Betfair | Tabatabai | Portugal Part Two: It made perfect sense to me that he had a mid PP, and although possible for him to have an ace, the fact that blinds were going up in a few mins, my stack was well below average and the steep structure increase from now on in made me decide that it was correct to take a chance and call with Jack high. After a few minutes of deliberation i did indeed make the call only to find my opponent instantly turn over A-10.

[Cardschat Poker Forums] 1st hand pocket pairs - Poker Forums: Getting into the money on freerolls is often a 2-4 hour business, and when no more than top 5-10 is offered any decent money I always use the first hour to get a good start, I dont think it is worth to wait, wait, wait in one hour to get that "killer hand", play like a donk the first hour, not with 87suited of course, but with hands like AJ, AT, low and middle pair I dont hesitate pushing the whole stack, but the point is for you to do it first.''

[Diary of a Mad Poker Player] Law of Attraction and Poker: Another hand”¦”¦”¦Another button hand with KQs.   Folds to the seat before the cut off.  She limps.  Cut off folds.  I have KQs.  I call.  Flop comes 3j9 rainbow.   She checks.  I raise.  She re-raises me double my bet.  Now I was basically on a steal here.  She has check raised me.  Normally I would fold with a gut shot here even with the two overcards but my gut is telling me to call.  I think about it ”¦”¦.argue with my gut a bit”¦”¦..but finally decide to call to keep from sending out vibes that I’m weak.

[LeggoPoker] Basic: Cbetting paired flop after light 3bet? - Poker Forums ...: its very unlikely villain has smthing and if you check they will bluff at it a lot, since its pretty unlikely that you have QQ-AA if you check, so theyll try to push you off your perceived range of 'scared overcards'. your purpose on such flops is to push them out of underpairs imo, and if this requires a double barrel shove you should do it.

[Cardschat Poker Forums] Playing mid-range pp's - Poker Forums: Storms, I meant usually needing a set if there are overpairs and I don't raise low pairs on the button because I'd wrather have the deception it makes me a lot more money. Rarely I'll raise with 9s or 10s to mix it up but I find limping to be more profitable and if the flop came 459 I'd bet or raise to see where I'm at in the hand.

[Daily Hand Quiz] Small pocket pair in position on the flop, no limit multi - Daily ...: There are two ways to go - a small feeler bet (which I voted for), that we’ll have to fold if he comes over the top, or the check behind, which I also like b/c we’ve currently got a big pot with a small hand, not a good recipe. There are also many (small) cards to come that can improve our hand or give us some kind of draw.

[Cardschat Poker Forums] HORSE Strategy for Dummies - Poker Forums: Omaha High - AAxx is good if you can get a lot of money in preflop, otherwise be very cautious with it without redraws, like the nut flush draw. Strong hands on the flop are top set and big wrap and/or flush draws, so good starting hands are hands that can make these hands;

[Comments for threads13] A No-Limit Hold ”˜Em JJ quiz « threads13: Also, regarding the hands where we hit a set and an A/K falls on the board: I think that a flop of A-J-2 where we have JJ is much different than a flop of A-8-3 when we have 88 because we’ll see more 2pair hands and straight draws in the first scenario. I’d think I’d tend to play the set of jacks a bit (if not much) faster than the set of 8’s, but I haven’t been in that situation enough times to give a more experienced response.

[Brooklyn Bum's Poker Exploits] Pre Christmas Gambling in Atlantic City: The flop isn’t anything special so I lead out for $50, everybody else folds he goes all in for the rest of his money (something like $135) and I pay him off. He even warned me not to call his bet because he liked me and didn’t want to see me lose most of my winnings (I was up over $200 just about).

[Daily Hand Quiz] Medium pair facing a preflop re-raise, no limit hold em tournament ...: Even if suited, two overcards to our tens would represent a near toss-up (we have slightly better odds, even if he’s suited). The fact that he’s playing tight in early-to-mid-position is what gives me pause. It’s a risky (not valiant) ...
