[tp’s table talk] So much for my resolution to update here on a more regular basis. This tale has been in the queue for while awaiting refinement and has really stopped up the pipes so to speak. I haven’t wanted to post anything until I finished it, but I could never quite get up the will to complete it.

Some slightly related from Technorati and Google.

[Provick.ca] tp’s table talk: If I counted the names correctly in the post CJ made at the WPBT site and I’m sitting as the fiftieth name on the list, which makes me a little bit nervous, particularly since I wasn’t a good little boy and RSVPed via comment instead of email like he asked. The list is in no particular order, but I’d really hate to go all the way to Vegas and not get a chance to play in the tourney. I probably should have signed up right away and then worried about getting the time off work and finding a reasonable flight, but I’ve been organized too many teams and events in the past and know how much of a pain these types of things can be. Hopefully it all works out and I’ll be able to donate some money to my fellow bloggers before contributing it to random strangers over the rest of the weekend.

[Provick.ca] tp’s table talk » Poker: It was unfortunate as I was looking forward to seeing Daniel and maybe getting a chance to congratulate him on his success and compliment him on his Card Player articles, which are usually the first I read with each issue. I was also hoping I might run into Brent “Stacks”, one of the hometown boys behind Card Club on Lord Admiral Radio. I’d contacted both he and “Cinci” Sean about Daniel’s appearance after they mentioned it on their podcast this weekend and Brent said he might show up. Unfortunately, I have no idea what Stacks looks like, so I wasn’t going to hang around without the benefit of a poker game to introduce myself to people.

[Provick.ca] tp’s table talk » 2005 » May: Then I start to hear rumblings that someone is thinking about starting a cash game back at their place. After playing a couple hours in a free poker tournament, the opportunity to make some actual cash seems like a good idea. And it turned out it was put together by one of the lads from my own bi-weekly tournament who had shown up late. While I’ve got a shot at the final table, I don’t like my chances at first place and the kind of points I would need to qualify for the season ending tournament.
